ERDENE ZUU SUBURGAN - MONGOLIA
In the compound of the Erdene Zuu there is a big suburgan ( or stupa ) . The main stupa which is called the Golden Prayer Stupa stands in the northern sector. The stupa built in 1799, along with a small building next to it, which is supposed to have been the first temple built here. The Mongolian stupas are built in the Tibetan style with a ''sentei'' , a spire consisting of 13 rings representing Buddhist doctrines and the moon and the sun.
