LUMBINI PEACE PAGODA - NEPAL


Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhism is an international Buddhist organization founded by the Most Venerable Nichidatsu Fujii(1885-1985). The basic practice of the monks and nuns of the Nipponzan Myohoji revolves around walking and chanting "Na-Mu-Myo-Ho-Ren-Ge-Kyo" ( means "Will make Tranquil this realm of mine") while beating their drum as a call for peace in the world. The Nipponzan Myohoji is most well known for their construction of Peace Pagodas throughout the world. The objective of constructing Pagodas is to establish peace and to revive the pure land around them, where all beings can enjoy their lives in Peace. The Lumbini peace pagoda was completed on the 18th of October, 2001 and the Inauguration Ceremony of Lumbini Peace Pagoda was on 3rd November 2001 .
