CHAIYA MANGKALARAM - MALAYSIA

Located on Lorong Burma, Wat Chaiya Mangkalam, a Thai Buddist temple, was built on five acres of land donated by Queen Victoria to the Thai community on the island in 1845. The guardian dragon and statue (with bright colours) located at both entrance are a wonder. Inside, there is the statue of reclining Buddha. It is 32 meter (108ft) long and is the third largest of its kind in the world. On the temple grounds stand a 9-story pagoda measuring 165ft in height.
