BODNATH STUPA - NEPAL

The giant stupa of Bodnath is the largest stupa in Nepal, and one of the largest in the world. Built in the 14th century after the Mughal invasions by Tibetan Buddhists, the stupa is now the axis of the Tibetan refugee community that has lived in the Kathmandu Valley since the Chinese invasion over 40 years ago. Bodnath Stupa is a bastion of Tibetan culture in the heart of the Kathmandu valley.
