THOMAS JEFFERSON MEMORIAL - UNITED STATES




The memorial was dedicated in 1943 on the 200th anniversary of Jefferson's birth ( author of the Declaration of Independence, first Secretary of State, and third President of the United States.) The structure is located on the South side of the Tidal Basin in West Potomac park (Washington D.C.). In the center of this simple circular classical white marble monument is a towering 19-foot bronze portrait statue stands on a 6-foot pedestal.
