KOLOMENSKOYE ASCENSION CHURCH - RUSSIA


The Church of the Ascension was built in 1532 on the imperial estate of Kolomenskoye, near Moscow,to mark the birth of Vassily III's first son, Ivan the Terrible. The wooden tent-roofed church on a stone and brick substructure was, at 60 meters, a skyscraper in its day.
