SUPREME COURT BUILDING - UNITED STATES




The Supreme Court Building, constructed between 1932--1935, was designed by noted architect Cass Gilbert, who is best known as the architect for the Woolworth Building in New York. This building is made of marble. It was the first permanent house of the nation's highest tribunal, guardian of the Constitution, which first met in 1790 in New York.
